 WHO CAN APPLY FOR HOUSING?                                                                                                      

 To be eligible for housing with Churches Community Housing:

bulletYou must be on the Department of Housing waiting list (and have a ‘T’ number);
bulletYou must earn less than the specified income limit and you must not have a property or assets that you could use to solve your housing needs; and (please refer to Department of Housing Policy on Eligibility for Public Housing)
bulletYour current housing is inadequate, and/or unsuitable and your facing problems trying to find alternative housing.

 HOW TO APPLY FOR HOUSING                                                                                                          

  1. To apply for housing with us you must fill out an Application for Housing form, which is available from our office.
  2. Once you complete the form you must then return it to our office along with written proof of your household income, such as an income statement from Centrelink.
  3. If you meet the eligibility criteria we will then send you a letter to asses your current situation.
  4. Your application will then be assessed according to our selection criteria.
  5. You will be notified of the outcome of the assessment and if your application is successful your name will be added to our waiting list.

  

 HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT?                                                                                                      

Unfortunately we are not able to determine how long you may wait for housing once your application has been accepted. The waiting time can vary from months to five years or more. The factors that can affect the length of time you wait for housing include the area you have chosen to live in, the number of bedrooms you need, and how many new properties Churches Community Housing gets each year.
